VL53L1X LiDAR: Because Crashing is Expensive

Ever wish you had Spidey-Sense for your drone? The VL53L1X Time-of-Flight (ToF) laser-ranging sensor is here to (sort of) grant that wish. This little beauty enhances the ST FlightSense™ product family, offering rapid and accurate ranging up to 4 meters. Think of it as the ultimate excuse for NOT blaming that tree you just intimately acquainted your quad with.

Why You Want It

  • Precision Ranging: Know exactly how far away that tempting gap is before you commit.
  • Fast Refresh Rate: Up to 50Hz means quicker reactions – ideal for those last-second saves.
  • Compact & Integrated: Tiny enough to fit on almost any build without adding significant weight.
  • FPV Obstacle Avoidance: Add a basic level of obstacle avoidance.

Specifications

  • Emitter: 940 nm invisible laser (Class1) - because we're ninjas, not disco dancers.
  • SPAD (single photon avalanche diode) receiving array with integrated lens.
  • Ranging Distance: Up to 400 cm (because anything further is just showing off).
  • Ranging Frequency: Up to 50 Hz - blink and you'll miss it (the measurement, not your quad).
  • Typical full field-of-view (FoV): 27 °.
  • Working voltage: 3.3-5v - because we're not made of magic smoke.
  • Communication interface: I2C - because we're civilised.
  • Dimensions: 25x10.7x3.2mm
  • Weight: 2.4g - lighter than your excuses.

In Box

  • 1x VL53L1X
  • 1x GH4P 200mm Cable(installed)
  • 1x TPU Protective Case Shell

Disclaimer

We're not responsible for any trees, gates, or rogue pigeons harmed in the pursuit of FPV glory. Use responsibly. Side effects may include increased confidence, a superiority complex, and an uncontrollable urge to buy more drones.

Still Here?

Alright, you've read this far. You're clearly serious about not crashing (or at least delaying the inevitable). Add this LiDAR to your cart and finally have an idea of how far away things are!
