12A UBEC: The "Please Don't Fry My Servos" Power Module

Look, we know why you’re here. You’ve got a massive 14S battery that could probably power a small village in the Cotswolds, and you’re trying to connect it to a receiver that has the structural integrity of a wet biscuit. You need a regulator that doesn’t double as a smoke machine. Enter the UBEC 12A—the heavy-duty babysitter for your high-voltage electronics.

Why You Want It

Most BECs give up the ghost when they see anything over 6S. This one laughs in the face of 14S LiPo packs. It takes that raw, unbridled DC chaos and turns it into a silky-smooth 6.0V to 9.2V output. It’s got a metal housing because heat is the enemy, and we know you're probably going to tuck this into a spot with zero airflow because you like to live dangerously.

Specs

  • Input Voltage: 3~14S LiPo (Because 6S is so 2019)
  • Output Voltage: 6.0V / 7.2V / 8.0V / 9.2V (Adjustable via DIP switches—yes, physical switches you can actually touch)
  • Continuous Current: 12A (Enough to feed even the hungriest servos)
  • Burst Current: 24A (For those moments when you panic-roll)
  • Efficiency: >90% (Less heat, more flight time)
  • Dimensions: 48 x 33.6 x 16.3 mm (Smaller than your ego after a crash)
  • Weight: 47.8g (Lighter than a pack of UK crisps)
  • Input Connector: XT30 (Small, reliable, slightly annoying to solder)

In the Box

  • 1x UBEC Power Module (The main event)
  • 1x XT30 18AWG Cable (Juice delivery system)
  • 1x DuPont 3P Cable (The bridge to your receiver)

Compatibility

Works with high-voltage servos, heavy-lift hexacopters, industrial drones, and that over-engineered RC lawnmower project you've been working on for three years. If it takes 3-14S and needs 12A, this is your guy.

Highlights

  • DIP Switch Control: No weird software or "hold the button while the LED flashes three times" nonsense. Just flip a switch.
  • Metal Shielding: Reduces EMI, so your FPV feed doesn't look like a 1980s TV during a thunderstorm.
  • Quad-Output: 4-channel parallel header pins because one output is never enough.

Notes

This is a synchronous step-down regulator. That means it takes high voltage and makes it low. If you try to do the opposite, you'll be buying another one very quickly. Also, keep the DIP switches away from curious fingers once set.

Disclaimer

Don't set it to 9.2V and plug in a 5V receiver. We won't judge, but your receiver certainly will (with fire).

Still Here?

If you’re still reading this, you’re either a crawler bot or someone who actually cares about power redundancy. Either way, stop overthinking your power loop and just get a BEC that won't melt. We're based in the UK, so shipping won't take an eternity. Add it to the basket already.
