TBS Source One V6 5 Inch Frame: The People's Champion
Ah, the Team BlackSheep Source One. The frame you build when you're smart, the frame you buy after you wreck something that cost three times as much. It's the FPV community's open-source gift to your wallet and your weekend. If you're looking for the best all-round TBS Source One V6 5 inch frame, a true workhorse for freestyle chaos or just cruising a field without needing a second mortgage, you've found it. Stop scrolling, your search is over.
Why You Want It
Because it's brilliant, that's why. The V6 is the latest evolution of the frame designed by the community, for the community. It's tough, cheap, and as easy to get parts for as a Greggs sausage roll. This is the freestyle drone frame you won't cry over when you inevitably introduce it to that one specific lamp post that hates you. It's not magic; it's just smart, collaborative engineering that leaves you more cash for batteries. And props. So many props.
So, What's New in V6?
If you're staring at your battered V5 and wondering if this is a revolutionary leap, let's manage expectations. The V6 is a smart refinement, not a total rewrite. Think of it as the V5 after it spent a year at the gym and got a bit tougher.
- Beefier Base: The bottom plate has been thickened up from 2mm to a sturdier 2.5mm. It might not sound like much, but it's extra insurance for those... unplanned landings.
- Smarter Shape: The overall geometry and plate shapes have been tweaked for better crash resistance. Basically, TBS took the data from a thousand V5s meeting lamp posts and reinforced the bits that complained the most.
- Low-Rider Ready: You now get both 30mm and 22mm standoffs in the box, giving you more flexibility for slammed, low-profile builds without having to dig through your spares jar.
But Are V5 and V6 Arms Compatible?
In a word: no. Not even a little bit. We know you're thinking about it, so just stop. The mounting tab, bolt pattern, and locking wedge design have all changed. Trying to jam a V5 arm into a V6 frame is a fantastic way to compromise its strength and ruin a perfectly good afternoon. You'll need V6-specific arms for this V6 frame. Sorry, we don't make the rules.
