Ah, the age-old dilemma: you want to soar through the skies with a drone you’ve pieced together with your own two hands, yet the mere thought of wading through the quagmire of compatibility checks and part-picking sends you into a tailspin. Fear not, aspiring aviator! We’ve concocted the perfect antidote to your drone-building woes with our DIY Kits. Say goodbye to the endless research spiral and hello to more sky time.
Let’s unwrap the treasure chest that is our 7-inch, DJI HD FPV + ELRS kit. It’s like the Swiss Army knife of drone kits, only cooler and with fewer tiny scissors.
Frame: Source One (7 Inch) – Because flying a flimsy drone is like bringing a knife to a gunfight.
Flight Stack: SpeedyBee F405 V3 BLS 60A – It’s the brain and brawn of your drone, minus the existential crisis.
Motors: Emax Eco 2807 1300kV – These are what will give your drone the lift of an eagle and the grace of a ballet dancer (on a good day).
Propellers: HQ Prop 7×4.5×2 – Without these, your drone is basically a very expensive paperweight.
Receiver: Happymodel EP1 Dual TCXO RX – Because losing signal is only cool if you’re a mysterious radio broadcaster from the 1940s.
Digital FPV Air Unit: DJI O3 – So you can see what your drone sees, minus the existential angst.
And because we’re not the type to leave you hanging, here’s what else you might need to get your drone off the ground and not just staring at you judgmentally from your workbench:
Batteries: Choose between TheFPV 2000mAh 6S or CNHL 6S 2000mAh. Because the only thing worse than a dead drone is a dead… well, anything, really.
Chargers: SkyRC e680 1-6S Charger for the lone wolf or SkyRC D100 Neo 2-6S Charger if you prefer a bit of company.
Radios: Go for Radiomaster Pocket (ELRS, not the one that sounds like a salad dressing) or Radiomaster Zorro (also ELRS, because consistency is key). And if you’re feeling extra fancy, the DJI Remote Controller 2 is your friend (just don’t mix it up with the ELRS receiver, or you’ll have a very sophisticated paperweight).
Goggles: Choose between DJI Goggles 2 or DJI Goggles Integra, because flying blind is only cool in metaphorical inspirational quotes.
So there you have it. A drone kit that’s so ready to fly, it’s practically begging you to take it to the skies. Just add a dash of assembly and a sprinkle of pilot flair, and you’re all set to crash… I mean, soar!
