An FPV drone flying over a green landscape with a clear sky.

The FPV 2025 Recap, but Shorter.

Look, we wrote a massive FPV recap for 2025. You probably didn't read it. We don't blame you. Here's what you missed: DJI's O4 system is predictably solid. It just works, which is almost disappointing for those who thrive on drama. Meanwhile, the Insta360 A1 lets you look around in glorious 360-degrees, but the signal can be a bit dodgy and the footage has more noise than a family dinner argument. It's innovative, but not without its... character.

Speaking of character, Caddx had a year. They promised the moon and delivered a well-intentioned rock. Their new low-cost Ascent stutters more than a nervous best man's speech and is limited to 100mW. It’s cheap, sure, but buying a digital system that doesn't deliver a stable picture is what economists call a 'false economy'. Or what we call 'a bit rubbish'.

The UK decided to spice things up for night flyers. You now need a flashing green light, which, in a stroke of bureaucratic genius, adds just enough weight to potentially bump your sub-250g drone into a more annoying category. On the horizon, expect memory shortages and new regulations to make some digital systems harder to find. Scarcity—the new premium feature for 2026.

So, DJI is the safe bet, Insta360 is for the adventurous, and Caddx is for the patient. If this bleak-yet-informative summary wasn't enough for you, and you genuinely enjoy deep dives into FPV minutiae, you can read the full, unabridged article here. Don't say we didn't warn you.
