RadioMaster Ranger Micro module with ELRS backpack.

That ELRS Backpack Update You've Been Avoiding

You updated your radio but forgot its little friend, the ELRS backpack. Now they're not on speaking terms, and your UAV's best features are broken. A classic blunder. Mismatched firmware is a pain, but the fix is easier than pretending you read the manual.

The backpack's Wi-Fi update is, shall we say, temperamental. We're skipping that drama. The superior method involves a USB cable and the ExpressLRS Configurator. You'll use the 'Pass Through' option to tunnel the update directly into the backpack, bypassing its outdated brain entirely. It's almost too easy.

Plug it in, fire up the Configurator, select 'Backpack,' choose 'Pass Through,' find your COM port, and hit Flash. Go make a cup of tea while the robots do the work. For the visually inclined, here's the video. You're welcome.

Once complete, your backpack will finally run firmware 1.5+ and unlock the MAVLink features you were promised. No more excuses. If you somehow get lost, the full, unabridged guide is right here. Try to keep up.
