Our Flik Wing Airframe listing describes a roughly 500mm wing and still carries an older approximate 100g airframe figure. Alight Wing’s current technical page is more precise: 483mm span, about 50g bare and 65g with the supplied airframe parts. For a sub-250g build, we would plan from 65g but weigh the assembled wing before buying the battery.
That leaves a theoretical 185g for motor, ESC, two servos, receiver, battery, FPV equipment, wiring and any flight controller. The manufacturer’s electronics bundle uses an EMAX 1404 4800KV motor, 30A 2S–4S ESC, Avan Mini three-blade propeller and two 5g metal-geared servos. Those are sensible reference points; fitting a larger motor because it “might be useful” only steals battery and video weight.

What We Would Actually Build
For proximity FPV, we would choose 3S LiPo and keep the wiring short. For endurance, we would use the maker’s 2S/3S 18650 Li-ion route and accept softer acceleration. Alight Wing quotes 2–4A cruise current at 40–50km/h, but flight time depends so heavily on battery and build mass that we would not promise its headline 75 minutes without reproducing the exact configuration.

An autopilot is useful for stabilisation and return-to-home, but it is not a substitute for correct centre of gravity or elevon direction. A camera-equipped Flik will normally exceed 100g. Under current CAA rules, a 100g-to-under-250g camera aircraft needs an Operator ID, and the remote pilot needs a Flyer ID at 100g or more. FPV also requires an observer beside you who can maintain direct visual sight and watch the surrounding airspace. Sub-250g is useful; it is not a permission slip for beyond-visual-line-of-sight flying.
