Before the first drive

Which type of R/C vehicle should I choose?

Start with where you will drive and how much space you have. Compare ground clearance and tyres for your surface: a small rally car and a monster truck suit different patches. Choose a crawler for slower obstacle driving, or compare buggies and truggies for quicker runs on suitable ground. Check the model's size and recommended terrain before buying.

Does RTR mean everything is included?

Not necessarily. Read the exact model and variant's included-items list, even when it says ready-to-run (RTR). Check whether the vehicle battery, charger and transmitter batteries are included, and what input power or charging leads you still need. Match any charger to the battery's chemistry, cell count and connectors. Follow the battery and charger instructions; never leave a battery charging unattended.

How do I find the right spare part?

Use the exploded diagram or parts list for your vehicle's exact model and version. Match the manufacturer's part number to the listing and check any revision notes. A similar-looking part, or one for another car from the same brand, is not enough to confirm fit.
