What else do I need for a DIY drone kit?

Start with the contents list: a frame or development platform is not necessarily a complete flying setup. Check which motors, ESCs and flight controller are included.

Plan the remaining equipment: check receiver/radio compatibility, batteries and charger, and FPV camera/video equipment and goggles where needed.

Check the build work: confirm the assembly, soldering and configuration required for the exact kit. Do not assume that every kit is supplied at the same stage.
