Two Flywoo Explorer 750mAh 3S 80C LiHV batteries with XT30UP connectors

Both Say Explorer 750mAh. One Is Wrong for Your LR 4

Quick Answer

The 3S and 4S Flywoo Explorer packs share 750mAh, 80C and XT30UP branding, but they are not interchangeable choices. Use the 3S pack for the Firefly 25MINI's standard setup. Use the 4S pack for the Firefly 20PRO or Explorer LR 4. Match cell count before connector shape.

Same Name, One Extra Cell

Flywoo's naming makes this easier to get wrong than it should be. Our new Explorer 750mAh 3S LiHV two-pack and the established Explorer 750mAh 4S LiHV two-pack both say Explorer, 750mAh and 80C, and both terminate in XT30UP. The connector confirms physical fit, not electrical compatibility.

Specification 3S pack 4S pack
Cell count 3S1P 4S1P
Nominal voltage 11.4V 15.2V
Full LiHV voltage 13.05V 17.4V
Nominal energy 8.55Wh 11.4Wh
Manufacturer-listed mass 51g per pack 66.9g per pack
Best match here Firefly 25MINI Firefly 20PRO or Explorer LR 4

The 4S version carries 33% more nominal energy and weighs 15.9g more, despite having the same capacity figure. That is why comparing only milliamp-hours gives the wrong answer. We would choose by the aircraft's intended voltage first, then use capacity and mass to tune endurance and handling.

The new 3S pair uses the same Explorer family branding as the 4S pack; read the cell-count label before connecting it.

Which Drone Gets Which Pack?

The Firefly 20PRO 4S / 25MINI 3S listing puts the distinction in the model names. Flywoo recommends 3S LiHV packs from 450mAh to 1000mAh for the 25MINI, with 750mAh as the balanced daily choice. The 20PRO is the 4S model and accepts 550mAh or 750mAh LiHV packs.

Flywoo Firefly 20PRO and Firefly 25MINI DJI O4 Wide micro drones
The 20PRO and 25MINI share much of their electronics, but their standard battery voltages are different.

Flywoo documents a 4S workaround for the 25MINI using both an 85% throttle scale and 75% motor output limit. We would not make that the default. A missed profile can damage the motors, while the correct 3S pack gives the intended endurance without a software safety dependency. Our 20PRO versus 25MINI comparison explains the wider handling trade-off.

For the Explorer LR 4 V2 O4 Wide, pick 4S. Flywoo's current specification pairs that aircraft with the 4S 750mAh pack and lists an approximately 229g take-off setup. The 3S battery may share the Explorer badge and plug, but it is not the pack specified for that 4-inch platform. See our Explorer LR 4 variant guide for the LiPo-versus-Li-ion endurance decision.

Charging Without the Expensive Mistake

Select LiHV mode, the correct cell count and a sensible charge current every time. A fully charged 3S LiHV pack reaches 13.05V; the 4S pack reaches 17.4V. Never copy the previous charger's programme just because both packs use XT30UP. Browse the separate 3S battery and 4S battery collections if the label on an older pack is unclear.

FAQ

Q: Can I use the 3S 750mAh pack in an Explorer LR 4?

A: We would not buy it for that aircraft. Flywoo specifies 4S for the Explorer LR 4, and the current sub-250g setup uses the 4S 750mAh pack.

Q: Is XT30UP compatible with XT30?

A: The Flywoo plug retains the XT30 electrical interface while adding a protective sheath, but connector fit does not make the voltage correct. Check 3S or 4S first.

Q: Can a normal LiPo charger charge these packs?

A: Only if it has a LiHV programme and supports the selected cell count. Standard LiPo mode stops at 4.20V per cell; LiHV reaches 4.35V per cell.
