Axisflying Bando5 SE O4 Wide 5-inch FPV drone with ELRS and GPS

The Bando5 SE Arrives Built. What Still Isn't in the Box?

Quick Answer

The Axisflying Bando5 SE O4 Wide arrives assembled with its video system, 2.4GHz ExpressLRS receiver and GPS fitted. It is not ready to fly straight from the carton: you still need a compatible ELRS radio, DJI goggles, a 6S XT60 battery and a balance charger.

Built Does Not Mean Complete

This is a 230mm true-X, 5-inch freestyle quad rather than a camera drone bundle. Axisflying has already matched the F405 flight controller, ICM-42688P gyro, SPA06-003 barometer, Argus ECO 60A 32-bit ESC, AE2207 V2 1960KV motors and HQProp R37 propellers. The fitted Beizheng 121 GPS gives Betaflight the hardware needed for GPS Rescue, but it does not make the quad autonomous or remove the need to configure and test Rescue correctly.

The listed UK configuration already includes O4 Wide, ELRS 2.4GHz and GPS; the loose items you must add are outside the photograph.

The easy mistake is reading “BNF” as “everything included”. The carton contains the assembled quad, spare propellers, M2 and M3 Allen keys, action-camera fasteners, a battery strap, anti-slip pad and manual. It does not include the flight battery, radio, goggles or charger. Before buying, read our box-fresh BNF setup checklist; we would not arm this model until motor direction, failsafe and GPS Rescue behaviour have been checked with the props removed.

Choose the Battery Before You Change the Tune

Axisflying specifies 6S LiPo or LiHV packs in the 1050–1550mAh range for this SE configuration. Our practical starting point is 1300mAh: it sits near the middle of that range and avoids making a sturdy 5-inch quad needlessly heavy. The in-stock CNHL Black Series V2 1300mAh 6S uses the required XT60 connector.

A 1300mAh 6S XT60 pack is our baseline choice before experimenting at either end of Axisflying’s stated capacity range.

One catalogue trap deserves spelling out: our Shopify variant carries a 1,200g shipping-weight field, while current Bando5 SE O4 Wide technical records put the aircraft at about 461g without a battery. Do not use the shipping field for flight calculations. Weigh your complete quad with its actual pack and any action camera; battery mass changes handling, and the finished aircraft is well outside the sub-250g class.

Radio and Video Are Separate Jobs

The fitted ELRS receiver handles control, so pair it with a 2.4GHz ExpressLRS transmitter running the same major firmware version. ExpressLRS recommends a unique binding phrase; after binding, confirm channel order, arm switch, failsafe and receiver link quality in Betaflight before fitting propellers.

O4 Wide handles video, not the ELRS control link. DJI currently supports O4 Air Unit Series with Goggles 3 or N3, and with Goggles 2 or Integra; third-party analogue goggles are not compatible. The Wide unit’s distinguishing feature is its 159-degree field of view, covered in our O4 Wide explainer. For a complete aircraft rather than a parts project, this Bando5 belongs beside the other pre-built multicopters.

What We Would Actually Buy

We would start with the Bando5 SE, one proven 1300mAh 6S XT60 pack, a second matching pack only after checking physical fit, and the DJI goggles and ELRS radio already in our ecosystem. We would not buy it as a first-ever drone: a 461g-class 6S freestyle quad assumes you can configure Betaflight, verify failsafe and manage LiPo charging safely.

FAQ

Q: Does the Axisflying Bando5 SE include a battery?

A: No. Use a 6S LiPo or LiHV pack with XT60; Axisflying specifies 1050–1550mAh for this configuration.

Q: Can I use analogue FPV goggles?

A: No. This product has DJI O4 Wide fitted and needs compatible DJI goggles.

Q: Is the listed 1,200g weight the flying weight?

A: No. That is the store’s shipping-weight field. Current technical records put the aircraft at about 461g without its battery; weigh your finished setup.
