Designed for FPV racing by the lead developer of cleanflight (Dominic Clifton - AKA Hydra) the F3 mini uses the latest in processor, sensor and software technologies to make it fly like its on rails with outstanding precision.
This Mk II version of the board includes a new high reliability volage regulator with 2-6S support and the balls have been removed!
The SPRacingF3Mini includes a race timing transponder built into the board which lets you precisely record your FPV racing lap times. Each board comes with a unique transponder code to identify your multirotor at a FPV race event. These transponders are compatible with i-LAP receiver timing systems commonly used for R/C car racing. Two LED's are included on the transponder for clockwise and anti-clockwise racing tracks.
This flight controller has built in support for a wide range of R/C receivers including Sbus, SumH, SumD, Spektrum1024/2048, XBus, PPM. The great this here is that you don’t need to use any external inverters as the SPracing F3 mini has these built in. Your R/C receiver is powered via your flight battery or USB to make things easy to configure.
Since most of todays multirotor ESC's do not include any BEC, its great to see the SP Racing F3 Mini includes a 5V BEC to provide 5V power to power your R/C receiver, or other accessories connected to your flight controller.
At the heart of the F3 mini is a ARM Cortex-M4 processor running at 72Mhz complemented by a Math co processor (Floating Point Unit) which makes all the mathematical flight calculations child’s play, getting more done per flight control loop. This process is approximately 2 times faster than STM32F1 flight control boards.
Another world first for a cleanflight controller is the built in MicroSD card slot which allows you to log your flight data to an micro SD card. With support for cards up to 32GB, you will probably be able to store every single flight you will ever fly with this board.
Other minor improvements include a dedicated USB port which is not shared by any serial ports. The SPracing F3 mini also includes a Sonar Port, battery voltage monitoring, an I2C port and buzzer port. All the features you would expect from a flight controller today.
The hardware was designed by the lead developer of Cleanflight to be more capable than the previous-generation STM32F1-based boards and to set the benchmark for a fully-featured STM32F3-based mini board.
