RadioMaster GX15: Bling, Screens, and the 250mW Reality Check
Partager
RadioMaster has released the GX15, a full-sized radio designed for people who apparently prefer their screen above their thumbs rather than between them. While placing a display where human eyes naturally look isn't exactly a Nobel-prize-winning breakthrough, it is a welcome departure from the usual layout. Just don't let the shiny blue CNC "jewelry" of the Max version distract you from what's actually under the hood—or rather, what isn't.
The elephant in the room is the internal ExpressLRS power, which stubbornly tops out at 250 mW. If you absolutely must have 1 W of output, you’ll need to strap an external JR module to the back, essentially buying an accessory to solve a problem your brand-new transmitter created. But if you are perfectly content with 250 mW, the GX15 offers a comfortable, full-sized grip, front-adjustable gimbals, and a generous array of switches for those inevitable moments you need to panic-disarm in a bush.
Naturally, in keeping with RC tradition, the radio ships without batteries, so you will need to buy your own 18650 cells to make it do anything useful. Once powered, you can enjoy configurable RGB lighting—because nothing says professional pilot like a controller flashing in flow patterns.
