Betaflight 2026.6: Flash at Your Own Risk

Betaflight 2026.6 has reached Release Candidate status, meaning it is feature-complete and highly capable of ruining your weekend if you flash it blindly. If your flight controller uses the IIM-42652 gyro, pay attention: a critical bug fix means your old PID tunes are now dangerously high. Fail to reset to defaults and retune from scratch, and you can expect a spectacular flyaway or a set of beautifully toasted motors.

Should your quad survive the update, you will find a completely rebuilt Configurator that finally looks like it belongs in the current decade. The most sensible addition is separate battery profiles. You can now swap between LiPo and Li-Ion packs on the same build without your low-voltage alerts screaming at you like a panicked co-pilot.

The update also packs an official developer-backed Auto-Tune tab, a built-in Blackbox viewer, and DFU flashing straight from your Android device. iOS users get to enjoy the Betaflight Bridge workaround because Apple still treats USB serial access with absolute suspicion.
