Flywoo Firefly 20PRO and 25MINI O4 Wide micro drones

The 25MINI Flies Longer. So Why Does the 20PRO Exist?

Quick Answer

Choose the Flywoo Firefly 25MINI for efficient 3S cruising and the 20PRO for a sharper 4S freestyle quad. They share the same 20A AIO, 6000KV motors and DJI O4 Wide system; the real decision is 2.5-inch endurance versus 2-inch response, not camera quality.

Same electronics, different prop load

Our current Firefly 20PRO and 25MINI listing puts both versions on one page, which makes them look almost interchangeable. Both use a GOKU F405 SE 3-4S 20A AIO, 8MB blackbox, ROBO 1303 6000KV motors, XT30 connector and ELRS 2.4GHz receiver. Both also carry DJI O4 Wide with a 159-degree field of view and 4K/60fps onboard recording.

The shared electronics hide the important difference: 2-inch props on 4S versus 2.5-inch props on 3S.

The 20PRO turns 2-inch 2023-3 propellers on 4S packs. The 25MINI moves up to 2.5-inch 2520-3 propellers but drops to Flywoo's recommended 3S packs. That larger disc area improves efficiency and steadiness, while the smaller prop changes RPM faster and feels more immediate. We would not buy the 20PRO merely because “4S is better”; we would buy it specifically for tight, aggressive lines.

The figures favour the 25MINI—until you want response

Flywoo quotes up to 12 minutes 30 seconds for the 25MINI on 3S 1000mAh, against 6 minutes 30 seconds for the 20PRO on 4S 750mAh. Those tables were recorded with an O4 Pro setup, so treat them as comparative manufacturer data rather than a promise for the lighter O4 Wide version. Oscar Liang independently found the 25MINI substantially more efficient and recorded roughly eight minutes while cruising on 3S 750mAh.

Our pick for most pilots is the 25MINI. It gives away some snap but gains the longer, calmer flights that make a small HD quad useful. Choose the 20PRO when response matters more than endurance. If you mainly want an even smaller 1S aircraft, our Firefly 18 guide covers that different class.

Do not turn the 25MINI into a 4S experiment

The shared 3-4S AIO does not make 4S safe with every propeller. Oscar Liang measured far higher current with 2.5-inch props on 4S and reported warm motors and oscillation without an output limit. Our recommendation is simpler: run the 25MINI as sold on 3S. If you want a supported 4S setup, buy the 20PRO rather than making motor temperature part of every post-flight check.

The modular top plate lets the digital assembly move between frames with four screws and no re-soldering. That is useful for repair or a deliberate conversion, but it does not make the battery and propeller limits disappear. The separately listed Flywoo DJI O4 Wide Air Unit also helps identify the exact camera and transmission package; read our O4 Wide explanation before choosing goggles or a replacement unit. Both aircraft sit in our complete drones and ready-to-fly kits collection.

FAQ

Q: Can the Firefly 20PRO use 3S?

A: Yes. Flywoo says it can run 3S with less power and potentially longer flight time, but 4S is the intended setup for its 2-inch performance role.

Q: Is the Firefly 25MINI a long-range drone?

A: It is an efficient micro cruiser, but the standard specification does not include GPS. We would keep it within a conservative retrieval distance rather than treat endurance as permission to fly far away.
