The New 1102 Motor Drops 1000KV. Is It Still an Upgrade?
Share
Quick Answer
The 2026 BETAFPV 1102 is a 21000KV, 1S motor made for the Meteor75 Pro II. Its lower KV than the older 22000KV version does not make it a downgrade: the revised motor targets efficiency, durability and the 45mm Gemfan 1811 prop. Match the whole propulsion system, not one number.
Why BETAFPV Dropped 1000KV
The headline change is easy to misread. BETAFPV moved from its older 22000KV option to 21000KV for the 2026 1102 motor pack, while specifying a 4.2V 1S supply, 35W maximum power and 9.2A maximum current. KV describes unloaded speed per volt; it does not measure thrust, efficiency or crash strength by itself. Our motor KV explainer covers that distinction in detail.
BETAFPV says the revised slot fill improves efficiency by 15% when paired with Gemfan 1811 three-blade props. It also uses a 2000-series aluminium outer rotor housing and a reinforced shaft. Those are manufacturer claims rather than our bench measurements, but they explain the design brief: keep the response of a hard-driven 75mm whoop without treating higher KV as the only route to performance.
Check These Five Details Before Ordering
“1102” only describes the 11mm stator diameter and 2mm stator height. The current motor also has a 1.5mm shaft, 5mm shaft length, three M1.4 mounting holes on a 6.6mm circle, 37mm 28AWG leads and a JST1.25 three-pin plug. Its listed motor mass is 2.85g; the store’s 40g variant weight is a shipping record for the set, not a single-motor specification.
That specification matches the Meteor75 Pro II 80mm frame and the propulsion fitted to the Meteor75 Pro II O4 Wide. It does not prove compatibility with every 75mm whoop. Check the mounting circle, shaft, prop bore, connector, lead length, voltage and ESC current capacity before treating another 1102 as interchangeable.
Do Not Mix 21000KV and 22000KV
For a damaged 2026 motor, replacing one like-for-like is sensible. We would not mix one 21000KV corner with three 22000KV motors: the flight controller can correct some thrust mismatch, but it cannot make different motor constants and load responses identical across the throttle range. If you are changing winding or generation, replace all four.
Our practical choice is simple. Use the 2026 pack for a Meteor75 Pro II rebuild with its intended 1S and 45mm-prop setup. Keep an older aircraft on its matched motor set unless you have checked every mechanical and electrical detail. Browse our verified brushless motor collection, and use the full Meteor Pro II setup review if you are rebuilding the whole whoop rather than replacing one corner.
FAQ
Q: Is 21000KV slower than 22000KV?
A: Its theoretical unloaded speed per volt is lower, but that alone does not predict the aircraft’s loaded thrust, response or flight time. Propeller, winding, motor construction, battery sag and tune all matter.
Q: Can I run the 2026 BETAFPV 1102 on 2S?
A: No. BETAFPV rates this 21000KV version for 4.2V, or 1S. Use a motor explicitly specified for 2S rather than relying on a throttle limit.
Q: Will it fit the original Meteor75 Pro?
A: Do not assume so from “1102”. Compare its three-hole 6.6mm mounting circle, 1.5mm shaft, plug, lead length and propeller with the exact revision in front of you.
