An Electronic Speed Controller (ESC) is what you use to control your brushless motors on your drone. You have most likely landed on this page because you are looking for a new ESC for your next drone build. However there are a few things you should consider before buying your ESC. The most obvious question is what size ESC you will need, should it be a 12A or 20A? Well this will depend on the type of motor you are using. Another thing to consider when building a drone is if your ESC should have a BEC which will provide a constant 5V to power your R/C equipment. Fortunately if you have these questions we have written a quick guide to the most important aspects in ourESC buying guide.
BLHeli or SimonK?
Other questions could be what type of firmware should you use? There are many discussions around comparing BLHeli and SimonK firmware for your multirotor drone. However both of these firmware versions are very similar in terms of performance on your multirotor. However because BLheli firmware allows you to connect your ESC via USB to your PC to change settings and upgrade the firmware BLheli ESC's are often more popular.
